Materials Inspire is an open-access scientific image library developed by the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) to share the beauty and diversity of materials science.

All photographs available in this library are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

What can you do with our images?

You are free to:

  • Share: Copy, download and redistribute the images in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform and build upon the images.

No prior permission is required for uses covered by the license, provided that its conditions are respected.

How to credit the images

When using an image, please provide appropriate attribution, including:

  • The photographer or creator's name
  • The image title and a link to its original page, where reasonably possible
  • A reference and link to the CC BY 4.0 license
  • An indication of whether changes were made
