Hexagonal Tartessian Symmetry

Hexagonal Tartessian Symmetry

Anna Esther Carrillo

The image shows seven pieces of Persimmon cut and arranged in a compact, high-efficiency hexagonal pattern.

Each persimmon, in turn, exhibits octaradial symmetry in cross-section: when cut horizontally, its interior may reveal an eight-pointed star-shaped structure resembling a kaleidoscope and evoking Tartessian symmetry motifs.

This pattern is a natural example of radial symmetry and has morphological analogues in certain crystal growth structures.
